About The Eden Clubhouse
In February of 2001, notice was received that the Intel Corporation had granted The Eden Youth & Family Center's request for a Computer Clubhouse. One year later, The Eden Clubhouse opened its doors to the youth of South Hayward, California and joined the global network of over a 100 clubhouses in more than 20 countries around the world.
The Eden Clubhouse is an after-school learning environment where young people (ages 8-17) explore their own interests and become confident learners through the use of technology. The Clubhouse is designed as a "drop in" environment where young people have complete access to computer technology and resources to help them create, gain confidence and find their niche. The Clubhouse offers a vibrant environment with computers and a variety of software and technological tools for use on projects in 3D animation, video, robotics, music and graphic design.
Computer Lab
Our computer lab is full of fun and educational programs that compliment what is being learned in school, and teaches a whole new skill set entirely. Students can study, and receive homework assistance as well as create their own ideas with our technology.
Graphic Design- Members create amazing art using digital tools. these projects range from digital paintings, flyers, newsletters, and even designs for their own clothing line.
Film- Members learn advanced video editing, sound design, and special effects as the use their imagination to create incredible movies and short films. These projects range from fun action movies, to documentaries that focus on serious social issues.
3D Animation- Member's imagination is unrestricted as they create 3D art, movies, games using advance modeling and animation techniques.
Music Studio
Members write lyrics, create instrumentals and record songs to express their creativity and get their voice heard. Besides creating their own albums, members often collaborate between departments as well. Music studio members often make soundtracks for the films created by their peers. The music studio is also where voice acting and narrorations for the films are recorded. Other than being essential for the multi-media departments, the music studio is also a gathering place for the Turf Dance Teams to come up with themes and choreograph their latest moves for performances and competitions.
Engineering Lab
The engineering lab is where members come to put their architecture and design theories to practice by creating structures, machines and robots. Other than creating for pure fun learning, the members also build devices for challenges, engineering competitions, and collaborative projects to push the scale of what can be created. Our engineers also collaborate with our multi-media departments when they create stop-motion animation movies and create digital blueprints with the 3D department. They use their imagination to build clever models and use math and physics to solve challenges with their devices.
